令和3年度卒業証書授与式校長式辞

式辞
三百十四名の卒業生の皆さん、ご卒業おめでとうございます。心よりお祝いを申し上げます。
本日、卒業証書を手にされ、ここに至るまでの苦悩や、仲間と共に感じた感動など、さまざまな思いを巡らせていることと思います。
とりわけ、令和二年初頭に始まった新型コロナウイルスのパンデミックにより、皆さんが、思い描いていた高校生活を送ることができず苦労したと思います。
こうした厳しい状況でも、勉学に励み、この卒業の日を迎えられたことは、皆さんの向上心の賜物であり、その努力に敬意を表します。
卒業式にご臨席を賜りました、保護者の皆様にも心よりお祝いと感謝の気持ちをお伝えいたします。保護者の皆様にとりましても、この三年間は決して平穏な日々ばかりではなく、一年生の三月、臨時休校から始まったコロナの二年間、そして特にこの一年間は気苦労や御心配が絶えなかったことと御推察いたします。
そして今日まで卒業生を見守り、指導してくださった教職員の皆様にもこの場をお借りして厚く御礼を申し上げます。
第四十三回卒業証書授与式は、本来であれば、多くの保護者・在校生、来賓の方々の御臨席のもと、盛大且つ厳粛に挙行されるはずでした。しかし、新型コロナウイルス感染症予防のため、卒業生の皆さんとその保護者の皆様一名、教職員による規模を縮小した式典となってしまいました。ご臨席を賜ることができなかった御来賓や在校生の諸君の想いも込めて式辞を述べさせていただきます。

It seems we will have to put up with these difficulties for some time to come.
But times like these call on us to demonstrate our ingenuity to the fullest.
This pandemic is an opportunity to bring about the changes needed to adapt to this new environment.
As you embark on the next stage of your lives, here, I would like to talk about “uncertainty” as one of the perspectives on this new phase in today’s society.
With the spread of Covid-19, the earth’s changing environment, Russia's invasion of Ukraine, we are unable to predict what lies ahead. We are indeed living in the age of uncertainty.
What do we have to do in such a time?
We don't make an effort because we can't see the future.
It’s not the truth.
We don't know what is needed because of uncertainty.
We hope we can show you it’s not all about outcomes; It’s about striving for your personal best; It’s about dreaming big and chasing that dream with no regret.
To put it simply，the process of effort is important.
Opportunity is a moment, production is once,　Youth is one time. Effort is a lifetime
That is, we must be active learners for life.
Together, we will work to build a better society even in uncertain time. You who graduate from our school have acquired 主体性,協調性,共感力,発信力, and 継続力.
I hope that you will use the five abilities developed here at our School and become the driving force for building a new society in the future.
Next, do you know the upside-down pillar of Yomei Gate at Nikko Toshogu? It has carving patters upside-down.
In Japan, structures are left incomplete on purpose in some cases, as can be seen in the Yomeimon , the thinking being that things begin to decay from the time they are completed.
I think it's the same about human.
If we thought we were a complete person, we would make not effort.
Never stop to make your efforts.
The Sugito High School has always engaged with society having a great sense of responsibility for developing talent. You who have gathered at our school are all members of the Sugikou’s network, partners as we work together to build a better society for the future. Making use of the five abilities you have acquired at our school, maintaining a broad perspective and unwavering principles, I hope you will do your part, in one way or another, to make effort and create transparency in our future society.

 日本語訳
さて、おそらく、我慢の日々はまだ続くでしょう。しかし、私たちの創意工夫は制約の下でこそ最大限に発揮されるべきです。パンデミックは、新たな環境に応じた変化をもたらすチャンスでもあります。
さて、皆さんを送るにあたり、新たな局面を迎えている現代を捉える視座として「不確実」というキーワードを取り上げてみたいと思います。
新型コロナウイルス感染症の拡大や地球環境の変化、ロシアのウクライナ侵略など、私たちはまさに将来が見通せない不透明な時代に生きています。このような時、何をしたらよいのでしょうか。
先を見通せないので、無駄になるかもしれないから、努力なんてしない。
これは真理ではありません。
不確実な時代だからこそ、何が必要かわかりません。
私たちはみなさんを以下の3つのことを示すことができたでしょうか。
・結果がすべてじゃないこと。
・自分のベストに向かって努力すること。
・夢を大きく抱き、後悔することなくそれを追い求めること
つまり、努力している過程が重要です。
チャンスは一瞬、本番は一回、青春は一度、努力は一生です。
つまり、私たちは生涯アクティブラーナーでなければなりません。皆で一緒によりよい未来社会を作っていきましょう。
本校を卒業した皆さんは、主体性、協調性、共感力、発信力、そして継続力を獲得しました
本校で培った「５つの力」を使い、皆さんが新しい社会の在り方を構築してゆく原動力となることを期待しております。
さて、皆さんは陽明門の上下逆に彫刻されている逆さ柱を知っていますか。
日本には、日光東照宮の陽明門にみられるように、物事は完成した時点から崩壊が始まるという思想があり、建造物をわざと不完全なままにしておくことがあります。
人間についても同じだと思います。完全な人間だと思ったら、努力はしません。
努力を止めるな。
本校は、これまでも人材育成に大きな責任感をもって社会とかかわり続けてきました。皆さんは、杉高の関係のネットワークの一員として共に未来の社会を創ってゆく仲間です。本校で得た知識・技術のみならず、広い視野と確固たる理念を胸に、未来の社会における不確実さや不透明さを減らしてゆくことに何らかの形で貢献してくれることを願っています。
次のステップで頑張ってください。みなさん、おめでとうございます。
